Library Services-Main Page: Article Requests

Article Requests

Need an article or a book that we don't own in the Library?  We can get it for you.  The library is part of a national network of medical and academic libraries.  Submit the citation details of the article (or book) on the form to the right, and we will get it for you from an outside library.  Most requests are filled within 48 hours, at no cost to you (this is a cost that the Library absorbs, if there is one).  Articles are delivered as a PDF attachment to email.

Statement of Copyright Restrictions

The copyright law of the U.S. (Title 17, USC) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.  Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish photocopies or other reproductions.  One of the specified conditions is that the photocopy is not to be “used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.”  If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or other reproduction for purposes in excess of “fair use,” that user may be liable for copyright infringement.  This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.  Requested photocopies may be subject to an additional copyright royalty fee.
