1. Start with a search in CINAHL Complete. This assignment is very different in that you are focusing on a single word.
2. You may need to try a variety of approaches to find what you need. There is not a single approach to this assignment!
3. Is the concept listed in the CINAHL Subject Headings (e.g. thesaurus)?
4. If the concept is listed in the CINAHL Subject Headings, try searching as a "major concept."
5. Sometimes "review" articles can be very useful.
6. Look at the introduction/background/literature review section of the article to see how the author(s) has defined concepts.
7. Use ProQuest Dissertations & Theses. Dissertations include definitions of terms/concepts at the beginning of the work. You can track down the primary source from the reference list. Change the search field to: Anywhere except full text - NOFT
Using the article title, search Bryan Fusion, CINAHL, or PubMed to find the article.
In this example, the Schetter & Dolbier article is freely available in PubMed Central; this is not reflected in a Fusion search.
